Waiting for Spring

 This is a watercolor painting of the Ghost River Valley near the Kingsfold Retreat Centre in Cochrane, AB.  Spring is about to come to the valley.  Waiting for The Lord is like waiting for spring to come. We know spring comes at the end of winter, the world is reborn with life and living things. We look forward to warmer, longer days. We know they are coming – we anticipate it.   April comes around and I am down in Millcreek Ravine watching to see if the buds are swelling yet, looking for the new growth, the sense of life coming back; looking for what God is doing. We wait for the Lord to bring life to our lives showing us his mercy, his steadfast love, and his character. We wait knowing that God is at work in our lives, anticipating, believing, and knowing that he will act.
