Coastal Village

(Madeira, Portuguese Island) I painted this for a series on the coast, wanting to capture the Mediterranean feel of the red tile roofs and a steeple standing tall and pointing to heaven. Quaint village, people about their everyday life, yet it is distinctly Mediterranean. It speaks of warmth and sun. This particular village was on Madeira, but it could have also been any number of villages along the Dalmatian coast of Croatia...
